Houston We Have a Purple (Post 22?)

OMG! I have been MIA for a week! Sososossoooo sorry. But fear not- halloween mani's are on their way! This next polish, like the last few are from the Texas collection and it's a sorbet. Houston We Have a Purple is the whole reason I got into sorbets, I just wanted this color so bad. Coincidentally, I painted my nails this legit 5 minutes ago. Then I logged on and saw my next post was this! It needs three coats and quite a bit of drying time- it's a sorbet. But it is such a beautiful color!!

So an okay swatch and a beautiful plummy red. Sorry this post is short on words but as I said before- Halloween mani's on their way!!!

Guy Meets Galveston and Big Hair Big Nails (post 21)

Sorry, sorry, sorry- I've been gone a while now!! This post is something I wish I wasn't posting. I purchased Guy Meets Galveston and Big Hair Big Nails from the OPI Texas collection for summer. And they are so so so similar. What a waste of 8 bucks! Now don't get me wrong- they are not dupes- but I definitely did not need BOTH! They're both coral sorbet jellies. I can barely tell the difference between the two!!! I like Guy Meets Galveston just a little bit better. Because it's just a little bit different.

I'm only posting one bottle shot because they came out identical.  The first one is Guy Meets Galveston- I don't know why I didn't take a better pic. Oh well- the second is Big Hair Big Nails and the thumb is reflecting really weird but at least it's a great picture compared to the other. Honestly this is such a bad post because of that pic- I'll definitely do a reswatch when I next wear it.

Russian to a Party Swatch (Post 9)

Hey nail polish junkies, I'm up to the second part in my red polish mini segment (I have a full Pirates of the Caribbean review segment soon, even though the collections kind of old, I thought it would be enjoyable) The second polish I found in my bathroom that day so long ago is a discontinued OPI with the old style brush. Russian to a Party is one of the few polishes I have that isn't a creme. The only place I've been able to find it online is gwbeauty.com so if you're interested, it's the only place I can send you although I'm sure some beauty outlets and supply stores may have it in stock. This is truly a beautiful polish. Its a deep brown-red with gold pearl and glitter infused in it. It's stunning for winter and is just mesmerising to look at in the bottle.
This picture isn't a great match (my camera seems to have an issue with reds and purples) it's redder in person and the gold pearl is well, golder. It's kind of a streaky formula but the color is so beautiful that i can easily deal with it. Three coats is enough but two isn't quite opaque. It lasts a long time without chipping. Something I forgot to mention in my Got the Blues for Red post is that reds tend to stain and stick to your cuticles more than any other color (in my experience) and this is no exeption.

Ehh... this is not one of the best swatches. Oh well. As you can see it's a nice red with gold pearl and you can see some of the shimmery reflects. All in all this is a great nail polish and if you're really into reds, it is definitely worth hunting down. If you have any questions about this nail polish or anything that's also nail related you can drop me a comment or email me at sierraheartspolish@gmail.com

Got the Blues for Red Swatch

Yayyy! We finally reached a polish that wasn't given to me by my mom! The story behind this polish is pretty simple. In the bathroom I share with my sister, there's a closet. In the closet was a beauty bag filled with nail polish. Once I was on an OPI kick I went into the back to go take some for my personal stash. Much to my dismay it was mostly Essie, and we all know how I dislike Essie. But there were two OPI's, Got the Blues For Red and Russian to a Party. So here we go...

Got the Blues for Red is a creme, what else? However it is an older edition of the polish before OPI brought out the huge brushes. I do prefer the huge brushes but my terrible snobbiness (I hate it, don't think for a minute I don't) doesn't care because it's still OPI. It seems more watery than the other cremes I own but that could just be an illusion as the brush is much, much thinner. In all of the "swatches" OPI provides you for this color, whether it be on their app or website, it shows the color as a blackened, super deep red when in fact, it is one of the brightest, most true reds I have come across.

Now the above photo is definitely NOT helping me prove to you that this a bright cherry red. Sigh. Oh well. As the name suggests, it has blue undertones. This is one of the best polishes for longevity on the nails although the formula could be different now.

Ahhh. Finally. Now you see what I mean? Pretty, bright and red. (yes I know the swatch isn't amazing but there are much worse coming in the next few weeks from my bulk swatching) The first coat is kind of sheer, but it actually looks stunning that way as a slightly transparant red. But the above photo is with two coats which leaves it quite opaque but I do think it's full opacity is somewhere closer to three coats.
